The recent exhibition, Jil Sander Present Tense celebrated with an opening event that we captured in this video.
The bespoke bust forms supplied by Bonaveri are from the SchlĂ€ppi 2200 collection and were all adapted to suit Jil Sander’s and curator, Matthias Wagner K’s specifications. The linen covered bust forms and natural wood articulated arms reflect the minimal aesthetic that Jil Sander has perfected over time.
This is the first solo exhibition for Jil Sander whose career has immersed itself in a pursuit of classical minimalism. Less of a retrospective, the show is considered to be a celebration of Sander’s evolving aesthetic.
Her collaborations with architect Michael Gabellini, photographers Peter Lindbergh, Irving Penn, David Sims and Craig McDean, sound artist Frédéric Sanchez and designers Fabien Baron, Ezra Petronio and Peter Schmidt are all explored together with her own creative.
Our video of the opening night showcases the exhibition and celebrates a designer whose pursuit of perfection has evolved in the present tense.
