Students from the Istituto Marangoni in Milan forecast fashion trends with an exhibition at Bonaveri Milano

Words by Ian Thompson | 02 July 2016

The exhibition ‘Trends Meet Tradition‘ using Bonaveri bust forms crafted by the students of the Istituto Marangoni, took place between the 23rd of March and the 8th of April 2016 at BONAVERIMILANO.

The work exhibited by each of the participating students describes their forecasts for 2017 trends in fashion styling. Four categories were set – Edgelands, Digital Wave, Encounter cultures, Pause – with each of the displays featuring imaginative interpretations of one particular theme. Each student was commissioned with their own bust form and set about transforming it in order to deliver their 2017 trend message.

During the week, students of the Master in Photography course compiled ‘work diaries’ featuring explanatory processes used during the creative exercise.
