Bonaveri has supplied bespoke mannequins and bust forms for the Homo Faber exhibition in Venice taking place at the Fondazione Giorgio Cini between the 14th and 30th of September 2018.
Homo Faber is an inspiring exhibition in celebration of European craftsmanship. Live demonstrations and conferences will take place during the event, allowing members of the public to witness the ongoing preservation of some of Europes most rare creative crafts. 16 separate exhibition spaces will be dedicated to the display of fine jewellery, furniture, luxury goods, interior design and fashion.
Fashion Inside And Out
Bonaveri has worked closely with creative director and curator, Judith Clark in bringing ‘Fashion Inside And Out’ to life. Set place in an abandoned swimming pool, Clark’s exhibition fuses artisanal talent with contemporary fashion. For the first time in an exhibition, Bonaveri has supplied fully articulated mannequins, used by Judith Clark to illustrate a series of delicate swimmers. SchlĂ€ppi 2200 female mannequins covered in a calico fabric reinforce the use of materials in the exhibition.
The exhibition promotes the benefit of human creativity through a narrative of ‘machine versus human’. Human skill has never successfully transferred to machine and in Homo Faber we witness the loss and rediscovery of artisan craft.
We are delighted to publish this short film in celebration of the opening of this important event.
